My Story

Highway is a young adult cat (about 1 1-2 to 2 years old). He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and tested negative for feline leukemia. Highway is a tri-colored male, which is unusual; this color combination is normally genetically linked with female cats. He has beautiful green eyes! Highway was found at the wayside rest off I-35 near the town of Hope, MN. It is believed that he was dumped there with another cat. When he was brought into foster care, Highway was sick and suffering from a respiratory infection and two badly infected ears. His upper respiratory infection is healed, and we are working on his ears to some degree, but they are getting better as well. Highway is litter box trained. He has gray, white and cream/orange tabby coloration. Highway is a very people-oriented cat and would like nothing more than to be around people as often as possible. There are other cats in his foster home, and he has been submissive to them when allowed to interact with them. Highway is fearful of dogs. His favorite thing, other than being a pet, is to sit in the window seat on a sunny day. Highway would also do fine as an only cat and is a very mellow, laid-back cat. Highway is a "jewel" of a cat; not only in his coloration but in his wonderful personality as well! To meet Highway, call the Steele County Humane Society at 507-451-4512. (PJ)
