My Story

Herbert is a sweet, affectionate, low energy cat. He will open himself to you swiftly in exchange for belly rubs. It won’t take long before he is awaiting your pets. His favorite thing to do will be rubbing against your legs. His second favorite thing to do is hide in a cardboard box, closet or other clever space (you will soon brag about his kitty IQ). He tolerates dogs, however really doesn’t like them coming into his personal space. He welcomes humans in his personal space. Herbert is like the retired Jason Kelce of cats. He is large, cuddly and affectionate. However, he is laid back and no longer needs to be extremely active. If you’re considering adopting Herbert, then you should start collecting cardboard boxes now. He likes traveling from one to another as if they are suites in a hotel. While Herbert is extremely friendly, he is an undeniable introvert. Herbert is unimpressed by human shenanigans and will often respond to noise by finding a calm, quiet space he can rest in until things calm down. There will be times you might think he is a wizard and learned to disappear. But no, he’s just somewhere in a closet, and will emerge. Herbert is a purring orange force of joy. Herbert tested positive for FIV. FIV basically means that his immune system is not as strong as other cats' but all that requires is just regular vet visits, good nutrition and dental checkups. FIV positive cats can live in the same household with other cats. Apply to adopt at bit.ly/btcradopt Or through our website http://bronxtails.org All Bronx Tails cats are spayed/neutered (when age appropriate), vaccinated, tested for Feline AIDS and Feline Leukemia (negative for both unless noted) and are litterbox reliable and loving toward people. We require adopters to fill out an application, have basic references checked, allow a home visit via video tour (to ensure conditions are safe and reasonable), and pay an adoption fee. We allow all adopters an up-to-2-week-long tryout period to determine if the cat(s) is a good match for them. If not, we will retrieve the cat(s) and return the adoption fee in full. We will also help with tips and methods for introducing the cat(s) to other pets, if needed. Add a devoted, grateful, lovely friend to your home and life--apply to adopt today!
