Hi! My name is Hazel. Shelter to Home Inc. rescued me from an overcrowded animal shelter. I was brought into the shelter as a stray and boy was I in rough shape! You see.. I think my owners and I lost track of each other quite some time ago.. because my coat was badly in need of human attention and had been without it for quite some time. The fur on my body matted together so that I couldn't even stretch my arms and legs out all the way to lay down. Also, my skin is really fragile and is healing now from where the matts pulled it too close together. I was a prisoner in my own body.
But you see, now I've been shaved. I am free to run around now and lay down how ever I darn well choose. (To tell you the truth, my favorite place to nap is on the rug in the bathroom, or up on the couch with people!).
My coat will eventually grow in and be beautiful once again. Back in the day it was a graceful, long coat and solid grey. I'll look like a show-winner again when it comes back in.
I'm still really young, just between 1-2 years old. I get along well with other cats. Dogs are kinda.. scary.. and sometimes I run from this dog I'm living with right now in foster care, but I think we could eventually be friends so long as he stops stealing my food.
I'm Felv/FIV negative, up to date on vaccines, spayed, de-wormed and on flea prevention.
