My Story
Harold
You know, the luckiest thing happened to me in late May. I was roaming around at the Tuttle Orchard when a kind lady picked me up and brought me to HSHC. I haven't had much love or kindness spent on me, so it was a surprise! I am a 10-year-old male cat, black and white, with an unkempt look about me. I can't recall having anyone pay attention to me, let alone take care of me. When the medical team evaluated me, they found that I had scabs and sores all over, my mouth was in terrible shape, and I had to have six teeth removed, and I tested positive for FIV. [FIV is a virus found only in cats that can lower a cat's immune system. It can't be transmitted to people, dogs, or other animals. It isn't transferred through bowls, litterboxes, toys, bedding, sneezing, or casual contact. I can live a long, happy life [even with FIV- cats] with regular vet visits, a healthy diet, and an indoor-only lifestyle. So it's really no big deal.] Oh, they also neutered me! Not only am I grateful to have shelter, food, and TLC, I appreciate all the folks who come and talk with me. I always give a big meow to the interviewer lady when she stops by. We enjoyed a relaxing petting session where my head, neck, and shoulders got a good massage. Now that I am fixed up, I hope someone looking for an older gentleman cat will read my interview and consider providing a loving home for me. 8-1-24
