My Story

It’s truly hard to imagine how someone could abandon a cat as sweet as Hannah, but it happened. As a result, she first became a stray and then she fortunately came to us at Safe Haven. This sad kitty was incredibly scared and fearful of people, other cats, noises, and sudden movements. We decided to let her be one of our two free roaming kitties so she would have minimal contact with other cats and plenty of opportunities to be socialized by our volunteers. The plan worked and now, on quiet days, Hannah can be found on the lap of our shelter manager while she’s working at the desk. She enjoys pets from all the volunteers and she can be picked up and hugged with no complaints, just purrs. She still is an accomplished magician when it comes to hiding, especially when there is a lot of commotion going on in the shelter. Hannah would love to be adopted into a quiet home with no other furry pets and no small children. It may take a while for her to adjust to her new home but your patience will be rewarded with a beautiful and affectionate lap cat who will has the makings of a wonderful companion. If you are interested in meeting Hannah, please go to our website and fill out an adoption application and we will be in touch to make an appointment for your visit. Filling out an application is not a commitment to adopt. You can call 207-646-1611 if you have any questions. https://www.safehavenhumanesociety.org/adoption-form/
