HANDSOME HERBIE

7/14/04-This , large, handsome dude was found in Dorchester-hungry and sad. A nice family fed him and realized he must be lost or abandoned and contacted us. He is already neutered, and we got him his shots and had him tested for disease. HE IS A SUCH A LOVELY CAT! Great disposition, cuddly and easy-going, around 3-4 years old.,he is not a natural bobtail, all but 2 inches of his tail had to be amputated. We do adoptions from a local JP pet supply store and while cleaning the cage, Herbie was in his carrier when a woman asked me if she could take him out. I said yes but she needed to HOLD him since the store's back door was open. Next thing I know, Herbie's scooting past me,headed to the open door! I yelled to close the door and this IGNORANT woman grabs Herbie by the tail. I yelled at her to let go and she looked up at me and said, "but that's the only way I have a hold of him" and wouldn't let go. I sreamed at her, "YOU COULD BREAK HIS SPINE!" and she finally let go. I whisked him away from her and into the cage. The next day the store called and said there was something wrong with Herbie, his tail was just hanging there. I guess Herbie was lucky, if she had broken it 2 inches up, he'd now have no control over his bowels. I wished he had clawed her face off, but he's such a sweet cat, he never even did anything to her, but if I ever see her again, I certainly will. UPDATE- Herbie was adopted by a great young couple who thinks he's the best-and they're right!
