Hamachi

Meet Hamachi! This little boy may have arrived at TCR a bit of a hot mess, but it turns out he's a distinguished gentleman Named for his yellow-ish tail, Hamachi is a shy, soft-spoken guy who loves to be petted and purrs easily, but will say a polite "no" if you try to pick him up. He is a bit skittish, and he may try to run away and hide when approached. But he is getting more and more confident each day and can be swayed with lots of churu. Once he is comfortable, he will jump on your bed in the morning with purrs and ask for pets. He will try to convince you to pet him by rolling around and by giving the tiniest of meows. He loves to play and may have been a greyhound in a past life because he loves running in circles after a wand toy, and sometimes keeps his mouth open like a dog when playing. He is a great companion and likes to be in the same room as the humans and observe what they are doing. Though he will keep following you around at times, he will be utterly confused if you walk after him. He also finds the hoomans on TV intriguing! This handsome boy needs a patient adopter who is willing to start him in one room until he decompresses and gets used to his new environment. He would likely do okay with older, cat-savvy kiddos but young or very small children might overwhelm him. He also needs help with taking care of his beautiful coat with regular brushing. He hasn't been fostered with other pets, but we suspect that he may be able to adjust to a new companion with proper introductions (and would probably even enjoy a cat friend!) Hamachi is estimated to be almost a year old old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV negative.
