He was found in very poor condition, disoriented and dehydrated, very confused about where he was and what was happening. He surely could not have survived on his own, which is heartbreaking to imagine. Grover was not sure about humans for awhile, and that is wise of him. He might have met humans on the street who don't like cats, and of course he had no idea why we were confining him and poking and prodding him! I truly believe it was the intake of kittens near Grover that showed him that humans are a good thing. The kittens were very interested in Grover, wanting to play with him and talk to him, and they were also interested in the people who came to love on and care for everyone in the room! Grover saw that the humans were doing no harm to these little babies that looked so much like him, and that human attention could be enjoyed. We kept trying to show Grover what pets are like, and when he allowed himself to relax into the experience, he discovered that he LOVES human contact! He purrs and purrs, showing no trace of fear anymore. It is so rewarding to see this kind of health and happiness turnaround in a cat! We try to improve the life of every cat we touch, and this is a big improvement. The only improvement left to make is to find Grover a home! Would you consider making Grover part of your family?
