Graysie was found on 5/27/23 in the road in Smyrna, at about 3 weeks old, very sick with an upper respiratory infection (uri). She was taken to AMC and treated there for uri and conjunctivitis from 5/27 to 6/5, then went to a foster home. Due to the severity of her conjunctivitis, she was seen and has been treated at Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialists (VOS). She has a permanent defect on right eyelid and her 3rd eyelid had adhered to her upper and lower eyelids restricting her vision. The ophthalmologist's recommendation was to surgically remove the 3rd eyelid which was successfully done on 1/11/24 and now she has vision in both eyes. She was rechecked and released by VOS on 1/24/24. She will most likely have chronic ocular discharge from the right eye and will require use of over-the-counter GenTeal Tears lubricant eye gel.
Graysie is as soft as a bunny and the sweetest girl. She is smart and independent and demands love when she wants it. Graysie is good with other kitties and she especially enjoys the company of her foster brother, Moody. Her estimated dob is 5/6/23.
Graysie is fully vetted, neg for FIV/FELV, and has been released by the ophthalmologist. She is ready to find her furever home.
