My Story

My name is Gracie and I have called this shelter "home" for too long! I am ready to begin a new life with you! I prefer to be an only child and not share any attention. I don't really play a lot but I LOVE to sit in your lap and be brushed! Like A LOT! I am very petite and dainty with a signature heart on my nose. I am ready to love and be loved! I will need a very dedicated human to care for me because I carry the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). But don't worry, I can't pass it to humans and if I am well cared for, I can live a long happy life just like cats without FIV! Could you be the forever home I have been waiting for? Note: Gracie is FIV+ . FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is not a deadly virus. FIV+ cats with homes can and DO live long, healthy normal lives when given the chance. They can live & interact with cats that are not FIV + as it is not easily spread to other cats; it cannot be spread to dogs or humans. Statistically, most FIV + cats can live as long as their indoor counterparts (13-18 years). There are many reported cases where FIV+ cats live well into old age without ever showing any symptoms. Kittens born to FIV + mothers are at low risk for infection, although they may initially test positive due to the presence of maternal antibodies. For more information on FIV please refer to the following link: https://vbspca.com/what-you-should-know-when-adopting-an-fiv-positive-cat?sfns=mo Location: Temporary foster home. For an appointment for a meet & greet, please 1) fill out an online adoption application first and 2) email: [email protected] to request an appointment. More Adoption details: An important part of the process is to match the life-style and needs of the adopter with the individual animal being adopted. Once you have fallen in love with your purrfect match, you will need to complete an adoption application. We have the online adoption application or you may fill out a paper application in person at The Cat Corner location. We do not do "same-day adoptions". Here is more about our adoption process and a link to fill out our online adoption application: www.thecatcornerinc.com/adoption-processAdoption Package The list below includes all of the basic services that each of our cats receives: Spay/Neuter surgery Feline Leukemia/FIV combo test (cats) Heartworm test (dogs) Microchip with free lifetime registration Rabies vaccination FVRCP (Feline distemper) vaccination Leukemia vaccination (cats) Bordetella vaccination (dogs) De-worming treatments Flea treatment Full senior blood panel (8+ years of age) Starter food Behavioral assessment A continuing resource to answer any of your questions or concerns Our adoption fee helps to offset the services that we provide for your newest furry addition. It also acts as a donation to help support our organization as a whole, allowing us to continue our efforts to rescue and re-home cats in need of our help. Applying to Adopt Once you and your family have spent time with the cats in the adoption room and are ready to adopt, please visit the adoption section of our website: thecatcornerinc.com/adopt Our adoption process page will provide you with all of the information you need to know about adopting through our organization, including what to expect, what information we will require from you, and finding your purrfect match. Thank You For Choosing to Adopt!! As a no-kill rescue, we can only bring in and save more cats and kittens in need as our current cats and kittens are adopted. This is why we say that when you adopt one cat or kitten you are actually saving TWO lives! One is the current cat or kitten that you are adopting, the second is the one that we now have room to save and place into our safe shelter. About The Cat Corner The Cat Corner, Inc. is a nonprofit, all-volunteer-run organization that does not receive any federal, state or local government funding. We depend solely from the generosity of caring individuals from our community to continue to do our work. thecatcornerinc.com facebook.com/thecatcornerinc
