Arrival story: Gracie came to us from an overcrowded pound. She was given up to the pound by her owner who no longer wanted her, along with her 6 kittens. Gracie had to watch as all of her kittens were adopted while she stayed in a cage awaiting a family to call her own.
The pound was getting very crowded with new cats bring brought in every day, and Gracie was in danger of being put to sleep due to lack of space. We were able to take her into our rescue so that she can have the opportunity to find a home too!
Approximate age & weight: Gracie is 1.5 yrs old and weighs 6-7lbs. She's a smaller sized kitty, and most likely won't get much bigger. She has a gorgeous "tortiseshell" colored, soft, flowing coat. It's so soft-if you've never had a long haired cat, you're in for a treat! In addition, Gracie has bright green eyes. This color is not commonly seen in tortiseshell cats, as most have gold/yellow colored eyes.
Personality: Gracie is outgoing and social. She loves to be the center of attention in the house and is always adventuring -- looking out the window, playing with her toy mouse. This is hands down one of the most affectionate kitties I've ever fostered, says her foster momma. She loves to give kisses and tell you how her day was when you get home. She curls up next to you on the couch and wants to help with laundry, dishes, and even likes to keep you company when you take a shower! She even comes when called, although she doesn't know her name, a "here kitty kitty" will do! Gracie is the perfect balance of independent and affectionate.
The ideal home for this animal...: Gracie has let us know that she likes the company of dogs, but after a short adjustment period she is doing wonderful with her foster brothers.
If you're looking for a cat who will greet you at the door every day with a few welcoming "Meeeooowws" and sandpapery kisses, then Gracie is your girl!
Thank you for your interest in a homeless animal!
