Golden Gaze has shiny black fur with chocolate highlights. With his small but sturdy, muscular body, he looks like a panther or jaguar. His golden eyes check you out the minute you enter the room. At first Golden Gaze was a bit shy but now he follows his foster mom everywhere. He is also so good with all the other cats - but when he was outdoors unneutered, he ended up in at least one battle that led to his carrying FIV, the virus transmitted only by a deep bite wound. Now that the crazy hormones are gone, he isn't having to defend himself from attack and has become so relaxed and trusting that only love is coming his way. He sees a hand and arches up into petting, and flops over onto his side in delight to show his belly. When you're too busy for petting, he is a self-entertaining guy with many favorite spots to catch a nap. He gives the other cats their space but is happy to exchange kisses if they approach him. It is wonderful to see him play like a kitten with toy mice. He is a survivor who has opened his heart to love and fun again.
