My Story

**SPECIAL NEEDS CAT - ALLERGY MEDICATIONS (See 2nd Paragraph)** GLINDA is a gorgeous petite young adult female kitty who is solid black with chartreuse eyes. Initially shy, she quickly reveals a social, playful and confident little miss who seeks out the company of attentive caregivers and other playful cats. Once comfortable with you, Glinda relishes affection and rewards your gentle rubs and scratches with purrs for more. A quick and nimble athlete, she loves batting at wand toys or racing and tumbling around with her four foster cat brothers. Glinda also easily entertains herself by chasing spiral springs or carrying around furry toys while chirping and trilling; her soft vocalizations are musical and amusing! During quiet time you will likely find her gazing out the window, sunning herself, or cuddling and grooming one (or two!) of her foster cat brothers; she is quite the attentive foster big sister. She is untrusting of sudden approaches and loud, unfamiliar sounds, but she recovers quickly. When meeting new people, she responds best with slow movements and soft conversation. Engaging and entertaining Glinda will thrive with an attentive, caring family and will reward you with sweet love and devotion. GLINDA had an ear polyp when she first arrived at CRAN, which was successfully removed by a specialist. Due to unknown allergies, she continues to experience some inflammation, which causes her to overgroom. This is easily controlled with low-dose steroids (which Glinda is currently on) or by cyclosporine (such as Atopica) which damps down the immune system. Her adopter might consider doing a food trial (which is a challenge in her foster home with 4 other foster cats) to help determine whether the underlying source is a food allergy or an environmental allergy. Glinda seems unaffected by her allergies, and is expected to live a happy and healthy life. GLINDA has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet GLINDA in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at Petsmart. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. Because she is a special needs kitty, she has a special adoption fee of $70, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
