Happy Summer! Kitten Season is in full swing again and we need to make room to get Moms and kittens (and older kitties too!) so we can get them fixed and find them homes! Please consider adopting- especially some of our older residents! Remember you save TWO cats lives and make countless more cats & kittens lives better by adopting! When you adopt one cat, it makes room to save another! Win! Win! The kitties thank you too! This is Glen! Glen is a domestic short haired grey tabby, neutered male, up to date on his shots, around a year old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Northwest Indiana! Meow, purr play! That's my motto! I'm a cute, playful and just barely over year old kitty, so really I'm just an older kitten! I still have lots of energy to play but I also like lots of pets too...the best good boy ratio ever! Before I got to the shelter, I was living outside scared and hungry. I'm so happy to be inside now and I can run around and play with fun toys. Living outside I had to constantly be aware dangers around me like other animals and humans who don't like kitties! I wasn't able to just be a kitten! I am soooo lucky to get a 2nd chance at a forever home. I REALLY want my forever family (or person) soon so I can be the good kitty they're looking for! I might be a little shy at first (or I might NOT be!) but once I get to know you I'm a sweet and playful boy! I'm ready to gooooo! Please make an appointment to come and see me at the shelter! I have my own "room" there and we can visit! It's probably a requirement for you to have another kitty (especially a younger kitty to play with) since I love to play! If you don't have one, I have lots of friends here at the shelter and you can take BOTH of us home! If you already have a kitty we should be able to get along (with the proper introduction period). Gentle kids are probably fine, but not sure about dogs though. If you're looking for a sweet & playful boy, give Glen a chance! Make an appointment to meet him! Our fosters & volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to get them used to being pet and to show them no one will hurt them. However, when they go to a new home, some kitties will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months. Please, only apply if you are an experienced cat owner and have patience. Thank you!
