My Story

Meet Ginger! This beautiful tabby cat is an absolute angel. Atleast she was for 7 abandoned kittens who were dumped at a shelter without a mom and without a chance of survival. Ginger came into the shelter and lost her kittens. It was such a sad turn of events for this little girl.

By a strange twist of fate, two litters of kittens - too young to survive on their own - were dumped at the shelter as well. The shelter knew these kittens stood no chance without a mom. As it turned out, these little families needed each other. Ginger needed babies to care for and the kittens, well, they needed a mom. Like an angel, Ginger stepped in and took on the role of mom. Without her, these little guys would have had no chance.

Ginger took amazing care of the kittens, known as the Spice Kittens. Even though they weren't her kittens... she loved them unconditionally. This little family relied on mom. When kittens were sick, she spent very moment trying to lick them and take care of them. When they tried to explore new places they couldn't quite reach or get into... she looked on like a mom watching over her toddlers that were growing up. Now Ginger needs her own family. She gave so much without asking anything in return. And we promised Ginger that we would give her everything.

Ginger is looking for her own angel. Is that you?

Ginger is a very devoted a loving mother cat. She has soft gray tabby markings and we believe she is only 1-2 years young. Ginger is fixed and up to date on her shots. She tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Can't adopt but want to help? Please contact Erica to find out about sponsorship, fostering, and other ways you can help this cat! Please note that financial sponsorship will be applied to the specific cat you indicate unless it is not needed, at which time we will let you designate it for another HT animal of your choice.

You can save animals like Ginger by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats before they are euthanized at the shelters, so that they have more time to find a permanent family. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering animals.
