My Story

Ginger is the sweetest cat who has stole the hearts of every human she has met. Her photos don't do justice for her beautiful brown coat. Ginger was found completely paralyzed in her hind end. The rescue has done acupuncture and rehabilitation to help get some movement back, but unfortunately she did not regain all function. Ginger doesn't mind that her legs don't work perfectly. She is surprisingly fast when she pulls herself around and is able to get up onto the couch and cat tree. Ginger can walk with her back legs when she wants to, especially when she is on a flooring with good traction. However, she typically prefers to pull herself around because it gets her where she wants to go much faster! Ginger has a custom wheelchair but she has never been fully trained to use it since she is so mobile without it! Ginger loves to play once she feels comfortable with other animals in the home. She did take awhile to warm up but was not shy about setting boundaries for the dogs in the house. She absolutely adores the foster kittens in the home. Ginger has to be expressed to allow her to urinate. Her foster mom does this two to three times daily. Ginger also cannot completely control when she has bowel movements. She is confined to a smaller area in the evenings and will neatly cover her bowel movements with a potty pad.
