My Story

Larry, Harry, Perry, Jerry, Gary and Karrie arrived as sick kittens with giardia and respiratory infections.   Giardia was treated and they have all tested negative multiple times. The respiratory viruses, which most cats have been exposed to, continues to cause some of them to get sick from time to time, sometimes requiring eye medication. Our vet also mentioned cats in a shelter environment are constantly exposed and constantly stressed - that causes respiratory infection flare ups. Once these cats are adopted into homes usually the symptoms go away, although occasional flare-ups may still occur. Gary looks most like his brother Larry – almost all white – but with orange around his nose and lighter blue eyes. Gary is the shyest one of the group but he will warm up if someone takes the time. We also believe he may open up more if he doesn’t have 4 other more confident brothers hogging all the attention! If you manage to be able to pet Gary without his brothers stealing your attention, Gary is happy to get the scratches! He also likes to play especially with wand toys! Please submit an application to adopt Gary at www.aaloc.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet the selected cat (or cats!) and get to know him (or them!) a bit. Donation of $100 for cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit (in Orange County, CA). Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on adoption policies visit our cat adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at [email protected].
