Fennel

Fennel is a 10 month old female tortoiseshell who is making up for lost time! Fennel joined us on December 16, 2023, as a perfectly normal kitten! Unfortunately, she rapidly began showing concerning symptoms. For months, she saw different vets as we cycled through different treatment options. She would regain her appetite and her fever would go down for a couple of days, but then she'd soon worsen again and again. And then one day, she just...stopped getting worse. She began slowly improving. We sought out one more veterinarian's opinion concerning her newfound stability and wellness. Because she was no longer ill, the diagnosis is considered one of exclusion, but the veterinarian explained that no other diagnosis that matched her symptoms would have ended up with her surviving this. Fennel was found to have had bacterial pneumonia. She continued resting and improving while her lungs worked hard to repair their scarring and damage. Finally, we were able to send Fennel for her spay so she could join the other cats in the cat adoptroom, and she has spent the last few months learning how to be a normal cat again! Since she spent her entire kittenhood very ill, she was a little behind socially. However, the more has played and spent time with the other cats, the stronger she has gotten.. We are so pleased to report that she is now totally back to normal. She is feisty, independent, loves people, and is never opposed to causing a ruckus. As of 7/7/24, she has been under our care for exactly 205 days, and she is now more than ready to go on and find her forever home!
