My Story

This playful guy has had a rough start to life after being found under a shed along with his siblings all battling a persistent upper respiratory infection. Thankfully with a lot of care from Cats Only and the U of I he is finally all clear and ready for adoption! Because of this persistent virus, FairyTail Ken has a blocked tear duct on his right eye. This just means that sometimes he has a teary right eye (which can be wiped away with a warm towel) and a slight stain underneath. This unique characteristic doesn’t make him contagious to other animals and he lives a symptom free life other wise! We think that his special “birthmark” serves as a reminder for how much he has gone through! Once a feral and shy kitten, this boy has now blossomed into a trusting and loyal companion. He absolutely loves pets, and especially loves being held. He will snuggle in close and loudly purr as he makes biscuits, offering to stay as long as you will accept. He is naturally curious, and loves to be involved in anything his humans are doing. He LOVES to play and often carries his toys around in his mouth. He will lay in bed with you at the end of a long day, and serve as a wonderful alarm clock when it is time to wake up in the morning. He also likes to lay in his humans bed often with his head on the pillows. He is the perfect blend of silly and gentle and has so much love to give, as well as laughs to provide! He also has the cutest high pitch-meow…sometimes it’s even so high-pitched it’s silent! He breaks the tension of any group setting, lightening the mood by chasing or batting the tail of his other fur siblings, dog, cat, big, or small to initiate play time! He gets along with all other animals, and we believe with time and proper greeting he would do well with kids (but hasn’t had much exposure in his foster home). FairyTail Ken does have a special bond with his biological brother House Panther Ken. House Panther is the braver of the two, and therefore gives Fairy Tail some much needed confidence in new situations. We would love to see them go to their forever home together so they can be playmates for life! Fairy Tail Ken has been waiting so long for this moment. His spirit has grown so bright and he is ready to share that with his forever humans! He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, and treated for routine parasites. If you’re interested in adopting FairyTail Ken, please read about our process and complete an online application. His adoption fee is $55.
