Hello my furiends! We are happy to announce that Elphaba is ready for her Petfinder debut! Elphaba came to Scruffy Paws several months ago; you may remember our post about the Pampers Kittens (see video link!). Quite literally, a call from Providence Animal Control about a Pampers box stuffed with kittens left by a dumpster. And yes, it's a cruel occurrence we encounter too often - but these little furbabies have gone from a Pampers box to being pampered in their foster home with Scruffy's top foster mamas! They arrived scared and skittish, and after some foster boot camping, Elphaba is ready to meet and greet you!
Elphaba is 10 months old, a Ragdoll mix, and she has been working on her catfidence skills at Scruffy Paws. I visited with Elphaba recently, and within minutes of sitting on the floor, she came over to check me out. Once she knew I was one of the good humans, she immediately began rubbing her face on my shoes and weaving between my legs...she loves her pets and bum scratches! Quick movements and loud noises give her pause, but she bounces back quickly. While Ephaba is not a fan of being picked up, she is affectionate, playful, and friendly. She is a furry purry work in progress!
We recommend starting Elphaba in a crate. It is essential to give her a safe, cozy space; in time, she will welcome you into her circle of trust. She will need a super confident cat in the home to help her continue to grow and trust. And from what I hear, she has a sweetheart at the shelter. Stud muffin Guido and darling Elphaba often cuddle together on their kitty couch. She must be adopted with another cat or have a friendly cat in the home; no kids, and no dogs for Elphaba.
Elphaba is joining her fellow boxmates on Petfinder. If you are interested in adopting one of these beautiful babies, check out Jude, Carlotta, and Mullin, who are also on Petfinder.
