My Story

Dusty Bunny (about 1 year old) and Raccoon (about 5 months old) , a young mother and daughter bonded pair. Both are from a cat colony under I-5 and have been in foster care since November. The mother, Dusty Bunny was semi-feral but is now coming out of her shell. She feels secure in her cat's high-rise cage/playpen and will now accept pets and belly rubs inside. She also likes free-ranging in a small space (bathroom or hallway). She will continue to become more trusting in a forever home with patience and human interaction. She has come a very long way. She does like to play with cat toys, rugs, lasers, and with Raccoon. She likes to chirp when calling for Raccoon. Raccoon, Dust Bunny's daughter, is more socialized and can be handled, although she’ll complain about it, silly girl. She loves to run around and play with toys, boxes, etc. Both cats snuggle with each other and love treats. Raccoon has had a loose stool at times and is currently eating vet-prescribed food. Dust Bunny eats it as well as they do like to share. UPDATE Dust Bunny is now much more trusting and accepting of longer pets and belly rubs. Raccoon greets you every morning with meows for treats and pets. Raccoons stools are now solid. Both are eating regular dry cat food, Blissful Belly is what’s in their bowls. Raccoon loves to be the first to use a clean litter box and is very vocal about it. Both are still Leary with new people and continue to wait for their forever home. Both will bring much joy to someone who is patient and kind. What Dust Bunny and Raccoon are looking for in a home: - They want to stay together forever and must be adopted as a pair. - They’ll need extra time and TLC to build trust. - They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment. - They need to live indoors only. - Raccoon requires a special diet for intestinal issues. - Both cats are litter-trained, spayed, and up-to-date on shots. - Both have been around other cats, dogs, and kids. - These two will need a special home with sensitivity and patience to foster their emerging social -ness. - They won't immediately be cuddly, but will get there! They are such sweethearts! All Alley Cat Projects cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption. Thank you for your interest in Dust Bunny and Raccoon! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt them by filling out this questionnaire: https://bit.ly/ACPAdoptionForm Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered. Many of our cats receive numerous applications, and we thank you for your patience while we review applications and find the best match. Please do not follow up on your application by phone or email as this will not expedite a response. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we appreciate your understanding.
