Duke

Duke Some of you millennials may not know who John Wayne was, but he was also called "the Duke." Like that big Cowboy guy, I am also tall and broad in the beam and cut quite an imposing picture. I am 3-years-old, came from another rescue group, and my owner surrendered me to HSHC, saying I was unwanted. Pilgrim, that knocks a fella down a peg or two. Anyway, I was transferred to the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC) along with a whole passel of other cats. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed visiting with all the people there! It tickled me to receive their pets, ear rubs, and back scratches. I am one friendly hombre. However, the cats there got on my last nerve. I would take a leisurely stroll down the room and have cats coming up to talk to me. What a pain! I had to hiss at them and sometimes chase them to get them to leave me alone. You'd think they'd get the message. The interviewer lady told me I was a very handsome, lovable cat. I told her I'd be happy as a clam going home with a new owner if I could be the only cat in the house or at least the unquestionable Alpha cat. My favorite John Wayne film is True Grit.
