My Story

Who is that dashing figure in the red cape? Why, it's Drake, Sir Francis Drake, celebrated Elizabethan privateer and explorer. No, wait, this Drake is only two years old, not 200 years old. Must be a different guy. But what's in a name anyway? At Multnomah County Animal Services, where he started his search for a home, they named him "Dopey". And that certainly doesn't fit this very playful, very plush, very alert young chap.

No, I think Drake is a great name for him, especially when you consider that the word "drake" comes either from the Old Norse "Draki" or the Old English "Draca" both meaning "dragon". Little black dragon with the fiery golden eyes - perfect!
