My Story

It is a harsh reality that no one wants to think about, but if something were to happen to you, what would happen to your beloved pets? Sadly, the shelter often takes in beautiful kitties who have been loved by someone, who suddenly isn't there anymore. In a perfect world, there would be arrangements in place for the pet left behind if the guardian either dies or is moved to a nursing home. But it is not a perfect world. DOT had a loving home but sadly her guardian died. No one came forward to take her in, so the landlord threw her out on the street to fend for herself. Fortunately, someone immediately swooped in and rescued her before anything happened to her. We are so grateful that in this imperfect world, there are still kind people who would save this sweet kitty and take her somewhere to be cared for until a new home can be found. DOT is a little over 3-years old but is so small she looks younger. She has the cutest "black spots" on her mostly white coat. She still loves to play and play hard. She loves running up the cat trees, chasing the toys and playing in the atrium. She is also friendly, loves being petted, wants to be loved and will give a love nip if your attention wanders before she is done being petted. And when she wants to play, she doesn't like being held back. DOT has a lot of energy and would do well in a family setting. However, we do not know if she has had much contact with young children or dogs. She is not crazy about being picked up and held. Since she lived with an older person, DOT would probably do best in a home with older children as she can get over stimulated and may be too much for very young kids. DOT would be the purrrfect kitty for the right home! If you would like to adopt DOT please come to the shelter during Open Hours, Monday and Wednesday from 4 - 7, or Saturday from 10 - 1.
