My Story

Did someone call for a doctor? Doogie Howser, MD is in the house! This educated, articulated and four pawed distinguished purr-fessional specializes in cardiology and can fix a broken heart with just a sway of the tail. He would love nothing more than a calm, loving home filled with fun tunnels and adventurous cat trees where he can lounge and keep an eye on things from afar. Not only are they comfy, but they help Doogie settle in to new places too! 2 year old Doogie was quite shy when he arrived at Ten Lives, but his bedside manner has made tremendous improvement and he's learning that a good head scratch and yummy treats are just some of the perks of indoor life. He will need some time to warm up with a patient adopter as he is still on the shy side, but before you know it he'll be out assessing his surroundings and ensuring things are in tip top shape! Doogie is now accepting adoption applications, available below! ___________________________ Please complete an adoption application if you are interested in adopting from Ten Lives! Apply here: https://tenlivescatrescue.org/adoptionapp/ Please Note: If the cat or kitten is no longer listed in the drop-down menu of the application then they are no longer available for adoption and we are not accepting applications. Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed. About Ten Lives: Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered.We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
