Hi I'm Dixie, a 17-year-old spayed DSH tabby female. I arrived at Safe Place several months ago after my owner died alone in her house. Unfortunately, I was left by myself for days at a time in a crate while the family commuted back and forth from another state to take care of necessary arrangements. This caused me to be quite afraid and develop kennel aggression. The folks at Safe Place rescued me and after several months of kindness, patience and attention, I leaned to trust and feel safe again. I would do best in a low activity home without other dogs or cats. My favorite things include being brushed with the rubber brush, chasing a laser pointer, and sitting nicely next to you while you give me treats. I'm ready to find another human to be pals with. I'm an older gal but have recent vet visits and my test results show I'm in good shape for my age. Could you be the one to give me love and another home?
