Dior

Dior is a one and a half year old spayed female, Showshoe/shorthair, seal point with white cat. A change in Dior's family circumstances meant that she needed to find a new home. Dior was adopted and then returned to our rescue due to fear aggression. After coming into her new foster home, Dior did not want to be touched for over a week. She was given her own space until she was ready to trust and be friendly with her foster parent. While she still can exhibit instances of pushy behavior and be hissy, she has come long way from when she first came into the foster home. She can be very bossy with people and when she wants things her way. Dior has been in foster for a few months and has settled into knowing her surroundings, such as which high shelves she can jump on, which cat trees to climb, and what cupboards she can open and pull out items. She is a very smart cat and will get into anything that has not been baby-proofed. She has been known to open bags of rice, so anything that is not chew proof, should be keep shut away. Dior is very confident and outgoing when she is comfortable in her new environment. She is incredibly curious and smart. She has learned how to open doors that have levers on them. She really loves her tuna pate or shreds (Friskies or Iams brand.) She has been trying a variety of wet food in her foster home. And she is VERY vocal when she wants her wet food! She currently eats Blue Buffalo Chicken dry food along with wet food. In foster, she does enjoy being petted and even tolerates being picked up and snuggled for short periods. She even acts like she likes it! While she does tolerate other cats, she would likely do best an only cat, just because she can start hissy drama and bullies them. She would prefer a home without dogs. She has excellent litter box habits. The ideal situation is one where she has her own bedroom that is not shared by any other animal or human, so she has her own space for when she is being spicy and needs time to chill out. She can get possessive over her person's bed and will insist that its all for herself. She would appreciate a cat-savy family who is patient with her bossy attitude. More about her past: Dior has lived as an only pet for her whole life, however, she stayed at a pet sitter's home with other cats, so she can tolerate them, however she would be much happier as an only pet in her home. She would prefer a home without children. Dior can be standoffish, however she warms up very fast. She likes to observe people and have her space for herself. At times, she has good behavior with visitors, however she can be mouthy and swatty with them. She has a tendency to be active at night, which can be disruptive to sleepers. Dior is very smart and has learned to do tricks for treats. She likes to play with and pounce on a variety of toys. She also likes things that crackle. She would enjoy a window ledge to observe the outside world and sunbathe. Dior likes water and her first owner gave her baths once a month. She also liked to hang out with her person when they were in the bathtub. Her adoption fee is $175. All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FIV&felv, and has been treated for parasites. ---- If you are interested in applying, please send us an inquiry through Petfinder.
