My Story

Dinky is a beautiful kitty with unique coloring. She was born in March 2003 and rescued when she was orphaned. The current economic woes are causing Dinky's owners to sell their home and change careers. The new job for the owner will be one involving over the road trucking, so Dinky is in need of a new home. Here is Dinky’s story in her owner’s words: “Dinky isn't really much of a lap cat; she won't very often curl up in your lap. Sometimes she will walk across your lap to see if it is o.k. or she will curl up against my feet or leg on the ottoman for a snooze. Most of the time she spends sleeping in favorite spots or on vantage points keeping track of what is going on outside; even if she really doesn't want to go out, she will spend several hours at a time outside on nice days, but will check in once in a while to see if you are there. She comes in when called, usually, and will stay in all day while you're gone with no problem as long as there's a kitty box. I've left her for several days at a time with provisions enough, and she's o.k. with that as long as she's confident you'll be back. She doesn't scratch on furniture because she has always had a scratching post, a 4x4 post on a platform with carpet wrapped around it. She uses it a lot and I have to replace the carpet on the post every 2-3 months because it's shredded. (I’ll give you that). If you are writing or doing the checkbook she will lay almost in the way to be close. She can be spunky if teased and will still jump out from doorways and pretend to attack when feeling frisky. She thinks she's a dog I think. She likes to be patted firmly on the back right in front of her tail like you might do to a dog, and if you flip her tail, she will whip it like she's mad about it, but she sometimes will hang around for ten minutes of that before she leaves. She enjoys the attention, and likes to be teased and will tease back. She has been spayed. Please help us”.
