My Story

Dieter is a 16-year-old well-mannered cat looking for his forever home! Dieter would love to hang out and be pet all day. He may take a little while to warm up to you, but after that he is a little purr machine. Despite likely being deaf, he has a lot to say and will let you know what's up. When Dieter isn't doing laps around your feet or enjoying some nice head scratches, he enjoys lounging in a comfortable bed and watching out the window. Dieter is an older cat, so he doesn't have very high exercise needs. He is content to wander the house, investigate some smells, hang out for a bit, then return to relaxing on a soft blanket. He has kidney disease and hyperthyroidism, so he takes special food and medication daily. Dieter takes an oral medication every morning and a transdermal medication to stimulate his appetite twice a day. He has a special food for his kidney issues. You won't meet a more courteous gentleman when it comes to taking medications, though. He is so patient and agreeable! Additionally, it should be noted that Dieter would do best in a covered litter box. Dieter is currently living in a house with two dogs and he is very neutral about them. He is plenty friendly, but he will find his own space/separate himself if they become too interested. Dieter would love a home where he can lounge and get adequate pets. He is very social and loves to be around his people, so he would do well in a living situation where he can see his new family throughout the day. If you are looking for a sweet, elderly senior cat to add to your home then consider Dieter! *Dieter has a mass about the size of a blueberry that can be felt by his belly. Some cells from the mass were assessed and, unfortunately, were not diagnostic. We are monitoring the mass and, should you welcome sweet Dieter into your home, we would recommend you have a conversation with your veterinarian about whether to take more cells to re-assess, remove it for biopsy, or simply continue to monitor it.* ------ There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption. Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat?
