My Story

** If you do not hear from us within 24 hours contact us directly at [email protected]. Sometimes the Petfinder inquiry link does not work. Meet handsome Diego!! This stunning young male kitten is a local orphaned kitten. At the same time he was rescued, at two other locations, two more orphaned kittens were rescued. So the three have been roommates, being fostered together. They get along fine but they are definitely all independent. Diego is as timid as he is stunning. Jose is the most outgoing of the three. We call this group the three amigos. But personalities are not as outgoing, social and friendly as we had hoped. We do believe we will need someone with patience, and a gentle spirit to work with all of them. Diego does not growl, scratch, or bite. He just cowers when someone reaches to pick him up. We rarely see this behavior with kittens so we are concerned that he may have experienced some trauma in his young life creating great fear of humans. Nonetheless, he deserves a warm home with a loving caretaker. If you are looking for a long haired cat, and can admire him from a distance he may be perfect for you. Our hope would be he would overcome any trauma he experienced and learns to trust and enjoy the company of humans in his surroundings. He does not have any health problems to our knowledge. We have listed him as a“special needs” because we believe he needs a calm, quiet environment with a very loving, non threatening, caretaker. Who will patiently work towards helping his fear turn to trust. And whether this takes months, years, or never happens- his caretaker will continue to love and provide for him. If you have a heart filled with compassion, and a home filled with love for kittens with special need-then we would love to hear from you! You will need to be able to work with Diego’s special social limitations. Many of us have adopted kittens or cats and have had to adjust our expectations and learn to love and appreciate them for the different characteristics they may have. Diego, and Jose, and have been fixed and are ready to be adopted. In addition, we had their blood work checked for common feline health concerns, they received all needed vaccinations, and we had them microchipped! We hope all of them will be in their new homes, together or individually, this summer! Senorita is scheduled to be fixed in the next week or two. That is the fastest way to begin communicating with us! ** If you do not hear from us within 24 hours contact us directly at [email protected]. Sometimes the Petfinder inquiry link does not work. But we still encourage you to use it. We also encourage you to follow our Facebook page, Last Litter Rescue, to see kittens before they appear on PetFinder! Last Litter Rescue (LLR) works to rescue, foster, fix, and find forever homes for kittens that were born to a homeless mother cat. We also have an effort known as Purr-fect Love TNR and we work alongside other select TNR groups and a network of kitten fosters to reduce the homeless feline population. We value born and prenatal kittens. Animal welfare is one of five areas that our parent organization Love Give Live works in to relieve suffering and promote wholeness. ** If you do not hear from us within 24 hours contact us directly at [email protected].
