My Story

He may not be a literary genius like his namesake, but like so many of Charles’s iconic characters, Dickens the cat is a charming young lad who’s been separated from his parents and dreams of a loving home to call his own. “Please, sir…I want some more.” Taking his cue from Oliver Twist, Dickens uses his precious little voice to let you know when he craves more food. He’ll also use it to let you know when he desires more attention—he loves pets and LOVES head scratches.  Dickens enjoys being near his human (this could be you!) in general, whether that be in your lap or calmly sharing space in the same room. Other pleasures for Dickens? Laser-chasing, belly rubs, and a good nap. His foster mom describes him as “so well disposed” and possessing “a great disposition.” Bonus points for good behavior: Dickens tolerates the carrier, always uses his scratching post, and keeps himself very clean. Affectionate yet independent, energetic yet well behaved, Dickens is a feline dream. Do you have great expectations about what a new cat will bring to your home? Dickens may very well be the one to meet them.
