Meet Dexter!
He’s a lovely boy who starts his day early by letting his foster mom know that he is hungry. He loves playing with his brother and sisters, whether it’s chasing each other in their tunnel or wrestling. He is a very friendly boy who will let you pet him and/or will play with your hands.
Dexter loves to grab his foster mom’s hands and lick them as she pets him. Dexter would thrive in an environment where there are other playful cats and is confident enough to be around respectful children.
Dexter needs to be adopted into a household with another playful cat/kitten OR with a sibling - April, Mia, Sofi, or Archie.
Currently in foster care in Inglewood. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.
All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.
We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.
We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis.
When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.
If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
