My Story

Contrary to the comic strip Dennis the Menace, this Dennis the chubby-cheeked brown tabby is a loverboy brimming with charm! He infiltrated a tended cat colony to get regular chow, and was discovered to be too friendly to stay outdoors; plus he had an eye issue that required veterinary intervention. Once he was corralled and vetted from head to tail, he was placed in foster to assess for adoption readiness, which he immediately passed with flying colours, so now Dennis is ready for his next adventure with a new family! This beautiful big boy is playful when he is feeling energetic, and calm when looking out the window at the world. He appreciates and responds to calm energy from people, and quite enjoys laptime now that he is a pampered cat. He likes to show his appreciation with many purrs and much kneading. His meow is very quiet, more of a cute squeak that nevertheless gets your attention. He is docile when getting medication, no struggling or negative reactions. A smart boy who knows he is being helped to feel better so he can be his best self. Dennis gets along fine with other cats, displaying no aggression if they are social and calm like him. Dogs are a different matter though, and not his cup of tea. He would really enjoy the company of a friendly cat in his forever home, and of course the ready access to a human lap to cuddle up to and make many biscuits. Sounds like a dream? Make it a reality and take Dennis into your heart and home! Would you like to make Dennis a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form. Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping. Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
