My Story

Delta's story. Delta arrived at Kitty Konnections with a broken front leg, emaciated, and infested with fleas. His first appointment with the vet came with grim news. Delta had been shot with a pellet gun at least a week before; the pellet was visible on the x-ray. They recommended that he either be euthanized, or have his leg amputated. However, he was too weak to survive surgery and needed to be nursed back to health first. Delta was going to be a fighter. At the end of his first day of recovery, Delta had a full stomach and was flea free. Delta's recovery was going to be a challenge, but he was catered to constantly over the next few weeks. Delta would continue to improve and grow until his appointment with another Vet a month later. Delta no longer walked with a limp, and the Vet confirmed with x-ray that his broken leg had fused together on its own. The Vet stated that Delta would have one leg a little shorter but would otherwise live a normal healthy life. Delta has developed a need for companionship. He is very cuddly and wants to sit on your lap or as close to you as possible. He will not do well being at home alone for extended periods of time. Delta has done well around older cats. He has not been around small children or dogs. Delta has a follow-up appointment with Dr. Suber of Capital Animal Hospital in Columbia, SC on 8 August at 1115. His fosters are willing to keep him until after that appointment or provide transportation the day of.
