Name: Dash
Age: About 1 year
Breed: Tuxedo
Reason for being at the shelter: Stray
Description: Dash was found and trapped at Lake Ozette. What in the dickens was he doing out there and how did he get there? We will never know. And he wasn’t so sure what to make of his foster mom and foster home thereafter and showed his fear and discontent by growling, hissing, and biting his foster mom for the first three weeks. He was greatly upset and fear aggressive but that could also have been a reaction to his being trapped and caged. Eventually, he understood that all she wanted to do was befriend him. Once he got over himself and realized that people were there to help him and just to love on him, he finally emerged from his orneriness to become a loving and peaceful-natured kitty. Now he really likes his human friends. He is so transformed and comfortable that all he does is chat up a storm and now you can’t stop him from talking in his own special cat language. He must have a lot of stories to tell about his adventures at the lake. Dash is a smart cat. His foster mom started leash training him and he did quite well. And he’s friendly and pleasant to be around. He is a playful kitty. Dash is shy of strangers and needs to vet people out first but once he does, then he’s super-friendly and affectionate. He may require extra time to acclimate into a new home but with patience, gentleness, and love, Dash can show you how he will turn into a wonderfully devoted kitty.
