Darren

Darren is a HANDSOME Lynx Point Siamese mix who is shy but sweet when you handle him. He enjoys attention during those moments when he permits himself the pleasure.

We know he requires a patient quiet family, one that is willing to give him the time he needs to adjust to new surroundings. In fact, he was adopted at one time. We advised the adopting family that it may take him 4-6 weeks to gain trust and confidence in his new family. He was returned within 48 hours because he hid under a bed.

Darren needs time and loving patience. In foster care, he interacts as long as there is not a lot of bustle and activity around to disturb him. Or a lot of other kitties that he can socialize with instead of his human companion. He welcomes his foster mommy and is willing to be picked up and cuddled -- when he is in a quiet environment.

He is the perfect gentleman with excellent house manners.

He enjoys other kitties very much. He cuddles up for a snooze and goes through mutual grooming if the other cat is up for it. He's been in several foster care situations. In one home, he was allowed to mix freely with others and demonstrated that he preferred the company of cats. In another home, he was moved to a room with one other cat. He was polite to the other cat, but the other cat did not want any part of him. So, he became very friendly with his foster parent who visited that room several times a day to see him, rubbing on her legs and waiting to be picked up.

If you would like to bring Darren into your family and you have other kitties, please note that he is probably going to be pals with your cat, not you, if your cat will let him. He would likely do well in a quiet home with no other pets for him to seek out for companionship.
