My Story

**NOTE: All AVA kittens under 12 months of age MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another young cat. AVA does not accept applications for single kittens** Dallas started as the brave brother, protecting his other brothers when first brought into fostering. They were born in an abandoned car and needed to be socialized with people and living indoors. He always makes sure his brothers are okay, taking the role of the “older brother” very seriously. He may play the toughie at first, but as he got more used to human interaction, he has become a goofy fella who will flip over on his back to enjoy a good belly rub. Dallas has the best manners out of the three, whether it be litterbox etiquette or using the scratch post/pad. He absolutely loves to play with his brothers, and enjoys chasing a crinkly feather wand or bouncing around with a ball. He will play with anything he can get his little paws on! He loves to cuddle with his brothers as well as the resident cats, and finds comfort being around other friendly cats. Dallas may seem like an independent boy, but at the end of the day he’s really a softie at heart. Not as fast as his two brothers, Dallas is always the fall guy when the three get into mischief around the house, but he will do anything for those two. He is very food motivated when it comes to treats, but can forget in the excitement that licking is okay but biting human fingers is not. Dallas would be a wonderful companion and will try his best to keep his loved ones safe, be they his brothers or another young cat who is willing to be his best friend. Would you like to make Dallas a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form. Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping. Adoption fees are $275 for each kitten up to 12 months old. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator. All AVA kittens 12 months or younger must be adopted in pairs or go to a home with another young cat (3 years or younger). Kittens learn from each other how to behave, which helps them turn into well-adjusted adult cats. In general, paired cats have happier and healthier lives because they have a constant companion and playmate. Plus, it’s twice the fun for you, and half the work!
