My Story

Ever since coming to us a stray baby kitten, Clawdia can be very shy, on high alert, and doesn't show well when meeting new people; however, her foster has found that she does warm up nicely over time to head pets, lickable treats, and her favorite toys! She likes to put on that "tough girl" act at first, but deep down, has a soft and cuddly core, especially when she's around other confident cats. If you looked up the definition of "sassy but sweet", there would be a big picture of Clawdia right underneath it! Once she settles in, she can be sweet, cuddly, curious, and playful. Clawdia likes to give mixed signals sometimes and let off a few hisses and growls before you pet her, but don't be alarmed - she just likes to hear herself and is dramatic, because as soon as she's began to trust you, we promise she'll melt into your pets! She occasionally will curl up on you and knead aggressively to make the finest biscuits on your chest and rub her little head into your hands. Clawdia is extremely playful - laser pointers, wand toys, and really any other kind of toy peaks her interest and helps her settle in more in a new space. There's not a treat she won't approach you for, and will snatch a Churu tube right out of your hand. They're her favorite! Within a few days after slow and proper introductions, she accepts other friendly cats. She would do okay with respectful cat-savvy children over 12, and does well with friendly dogs. Clawdia needs a cat-savvy adopter who is patient and loving, and is willing to move at her pace, respect her space when she wants it, and give her alllll the love and affection when she asks for it (which is way more than you think)! She would do best in a home with an existing confident kitty playmate or with a kitty from her foster home that she already knows.
