Introducing Chip! This sweet and handsome boy was recently returned to AFRP with his adoptive brother Watson due to no fault of their own after being adopted from us as kittens! Chip is both a sweet and shy kitty who adores a cozy, quiet space to call his own. During the day, he's often snoozing peacefully in the spare bedroom but when the evening rolls around, Chip transforms into a little lovebug. He'll rub against you for attention, sometimes standing on his hind legs or placing a gentle paw on you to ask for pets. One of his cutest quirks is his 'half sploot,' where he stretches out his forelegs and torso when he's thoroughly enjoying it! Chip is bonded with his brother Watson and must be adopted with him! He and his brother both enjoy lounging on cat trees and towers, and they love watching 'cat TV'-birds, squirrels, and people walking their dogs-through the window or sliding door. They even show off their hunting skills by chasing the occasional fly around the apartment! He would thrive with an adult adopter who loves having furry company and is happy to let Chip initiate cuddles. Due to his shy nature, adult adopters or families with cat-savvy children over 15 would be best for Chip. It is unknown at this time how he would do with other animals in the home as he has only been housed with Watson. Chip has inflammatory bowel disease, meaning he has developed an intolerance or, more precisely, an inability to digest specific proteins in his diet. Since his diagnosis, he has been on a prescription GI diet (Royal Canin Gastrointestinal) and receives oral antibiotics and steroids to manage his condition and has been doing amazing!
