My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is located at our same-day adoption center partner, St. Louis Park PetSmart. Please contact this location prior to visiting to ensure this animal is still available. A paper adoption application will be completed on site so please do not submit an online adoption application. For more information on adopting from one of our adoption center partners, please visit our Adoption Center Animals page. Chelsea loves to be in the center of things - whether that is exploring, being petted or playing. In the evening she will demand attention with head butts and cute meows before curling up in a lap for a rest. Named for one of the top English Premier League soccer teams, she likes to run and chase a ball, as well as play with feather or jingly toys. A keen climber, Chelsea does her best to explore any new space - be it a box, counter or couch. Chelsea is the most affectionate of our kittens and will be first in line when it comes to pets or treats. Chelsea is from stray surrender with 5 siblings. To learn more about Ruff Start's adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
