Chavi

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am. I am looking for a home with a patient person. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. Chavi tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. A volunteer writes: Give Chavi your boredom and she'll turn it into a balloon animal then ask you to guess what it is. Maybe not, but she's the type to brighten your day with something completely her own. Stretched on her side on the condo ledge, Chavi was in the middle of her morning tippy toe stretches when I visited. I accidentally surprised her when I offered her my hand and she tripped over her paws in her efforts to quickly get up. I felt a bit disappointed to have scared her away so quickly, but then realized I didn't! Chavi had gotten up only to heartily lean her whole little cat self into my hands. Chavi cuddled into my hands with the extraordinary and extravagant gentle strength of a very friendly lion, or what I imagine one would be like.
