My Story

Casper was sadly surrendered to Safe Haven when his owner could no longer care for him due to his unpredictable nature. He started out as a very grumpy cat who intimidated volunteers, but once we added calming powder to his food he became friendlier and approachable. Casper is somewhat of a contradiction in that he can be friendly and show affection and even jump in you lap, but when he has had enough attention he might swat to let you know. Volunteers have learned that Casper enjoys pets on his head and back, but never around his tail. He will greet us at the door and rub up against our legs to get attention, but he lets you know when he’s had enough. He likes to play with string toys and enjoys treats and now that he is in a community room with other cats, his temperament has adjusted even more. Casper will do best in a quiet home with no children and patient adults who understand his need for independence combined his desire for attention and affection. If you are interested in meeting Casper, please go to our website and fill out an adoption application and we will be in touch to make an appointment for your visit. Filling out an application is not a commitment to adopt. You can call 207-646-1611 if you have any questions. https://www.safehavenhumanesociety.org/adoption-form/
