My Story

We think Cabot was born around March 2023. He had been seen roaming a residential neighbourhood for a couple of months in late winter. Neighbours were ensuring he got fed, but he was cold and dirty, so we brought him inside when a foster home became available. He has since been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and is now ready for a home of his own. Cabot is a curious and friendly boy who likes to explore and get involved in whatever the people in his home are up to. He enjoys a good chin rub but is not clingy. Although he was nervous and uncertain when first brought in, after a few days he realized that he was safe, warm and being fed; he started feeling more comfortable and began enjoying hanging out at the windows watching the birds or following his foster mom around. He generally likes to hang out near his foster mom, but has occasions of independence when he will go off on his own to explore or hang out in another part of the home. He enjoys occasional times in his foster mom's lap getting some pets, but he doesn't stay long and will often just lay on the floor or furniture nearby. He loves to chatter and will walk around the house trilling. Once he knows you, he will give you lots of eye contact and trill and chirrup at you (likely trying to entice you to the food cupboard). His best-fit adopters will be people who love the attention of a talkative cat. He enjoys play with cat wand toys and loves his catnip treats. He also has fun with the meal puzzle toys his foster mom uses to feed him kibbles. Cabot gets along well with other cats and can be adopted on his own or into a home with other kitties. NOTE 1: Spays, neuters, first vaccinations and vet checks are included in the adoption fee. NOTE 2: Because a young kitten needs feline companionship, it is the policy of Cat Rescue Network that kittens 6 months or younger be adopted out in pairs unless there is another kitten or young cat already in the home. NOTE 3: Cat Rescue Network only adopts their cats to homes in the National Capital region of Canada.
