My Story

How it happened is anyone’s guess. I might have been so hungry that I got it stuck on there. Some “person” may have decided it would be funny to see how I’d react to it. I must have blocked it all out. But either way, I ended up with a can on my head.

I wandered around West Virginia for a long time with it on my head until a kind man tried to cut it off of my head. He ended up cutting himself up pretty bad during the process and had to go to the hospital. But at least that stupid can was off of my head. I felt so claustrophobic in there. I couldn’t eat anything. I scratched my neck up pretty bad trying to get it off. When he went to the hospital, he told his story to one of the nurses, who ended up calling a local animal shelter. I waited for him to return…when he did, we went to the shelter.

Even though I was happy to have the can off of me, I was still scared. This place had bars and was colder than I was used to. There were a lot of cats there…I overheard them say that there were too many there and that some would “have to go.” I know what that meant and I did not want to hear that!

Luckily over in Virginia, someone was reading about me on something called the internet. Not sure what that is, but I am glad it is around! She read my story and knew I didn’t have much time left. Plus, she also said that I looked just like her very first rescued cat, Buster! So she decided to take me in as a foster.

A few days later, I was given some shots and tested for some things and then I was sent on a trip in a carrier. I was pretty nervous about this. I am not a big fan of car rides OR cat carriers!!! But I came along anyways since I sure didn’t want to stay at that shelter! I didn’t know about my new foster mom…I just hoped that wherever they took me, no one else put a can on my head!

When I finally arrived in Virginia, I went to my foster mom’s house. I was very nervous and shy but I started to really get comfortable there. They have me a bath…which I did not love, but I was OK with (I am still a cat after all!). I was brushed a lot—which I just loved! And I met 2 other foster kitties—Tequila and Jose. Jose is just a baby and I really liked him. Tequila is Jose’s mommy…she let me know that she was the boss! But I was ok with that…I was just happy to have a roof over my head, a warm bed, and lots of delicious food to eat! Here are their pictures (since they need homes too!)

I am very patient and you’d never know that someone had treated me so horribly. I am nothing but grateful to be here and to be alive right now. I have a great motor and I love attention. I think with the proper amount of love…so I can learn to trust people again…I could be a lap kitty…or at least I’d try to be one! I really do try to please!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket My foster mom wants me to tell you that I am up to date on my shots—rabies and distemper. Plus I have been dewormed and I am neutered. I am about 3-4 years old. Other than needing to gain some weight, I am in great health! I use the litterbox really well and I am fine with other kitties. I think I would be fine with dogs as well since I am so laid back. I need a quiet home right now since I am still nervous but I think I would do well with kids who understood this!

I am a total sweetheart and I want to find a new forever home soon. So many people have helped me get this far. Could you be the last, loving step in my journey???

The staff at his shelter wanted you to know that "This boy is awesome! He gets along with the other cats....but I'm not sure about dogs. Giving his personality, I'd say he'll do fine. He seems to love everyone. He's grabbed a special place in my heart." Ours too.

The adoption fee for this cat is $145. which covers the cost of routine vet care. Buster is neutered and is up to date on his shots (rabies and distemper). Buster tested negative for FIV/FeLV.
