My Story

Bruin is a beautiful Siamese male who came to us after a rough time. Bruin's elderly owner died and no one found her for two days. Bruin was left alone with her body for that time. He was absolutely terrified when a neighbor found him and brought him to us. We also know nothing about his history before coming to us, as there was no one who could tell us anything about his prior life experiences. He didn't really know how to play or understand what toys were when we first came to us. After a lot of work and patience, Bruin has turned into a big teddy bear who loves affection and will roll around on the floor to show that he wants pets. While Siamese cats typically have a lot of energy, Bruin is a bit of a couch potato- this may be due to having had an elderly owner. He does love to play with a wand toy and will do somersaults in the air when he really gets going. He will also occasionally run and wrestle with the other cats in his foster home. He is also quiet for a Siamese, though he can be quite talkative when left in a room alone, especially in the evenings. Bruin still has a few personality quirks, though those have decreased almost entirely since he was moved to a bigger room in his foster home. He is shy when first meeting new people and will sometimes hiss if an unknown person approaches. If allowed to approach on his own terms, Bruin is very affectionate and will quickly become comfortable with new people. His new owners will have to be patient and allow him to feel secure and build trust before expecting him to be playful and affectionate. We would like him to go to a home with an experienced cat person and no children under the age of 12. He has been introduced to a number of cats and has immediately responded well to all and he does fine with the foster home's medium/large dog, though he is still a bit wary.
