Special needs : hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy

Bradley was rescued from a dumpster as a small kitten. When he went to get vaccines at 4 months old the vet discovered a heart murmur and sent him to a specialist. He was found to have hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy with valve obstruction. Basically one of his valves flutters instead of opening and closing properly. This can lead to his left ventricle thickening because of the extra work it’s doing to push the blood through. Bradley was started on meds to slow the flutter in March of 2023. He had been doing well since. His latest echocardiogram show no additional thickening of the heart since he started his medication. He takes it well twice a day and will need check ins with a heart specialist once to twice a year.
Bradley is shy, but sweet. He absolutely loves other cats, especially ones younger than him.
