My Story

Bobbi and her kittens were rescued from a junkyard. The kittens have all since found great homes! Bobbi is a Manx, approximately 2 years old. Bobbi is a sweet girl who loves affection. She gets along well with other cats. Bobbi’s ideal home would be with someone who can give her a lot of love and attention as she is shy girl. Bobbi has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. ******* **ADOPTED OCTOBER, 2010** We had previously adopted Smokey, our troublemaker Manx from a profile on here and we decided that Smokey needed a friend. Since we loved manxes, we wanted to find another one to shower with love and attention. Sure enough, there was a female manx available here in Ontario, and we applied to adopt her. As I did with Smokey, I sent in an application and another email to describe the kind of household we have here and that we would love her to death, no matter what. Out application was approved and I got in contact with Sonya, who described Bobbi's sad story. Poor thing lived in a junkyard, where she was sometimes fed by one of the security guards there. She ended up with a litter of kittens and unfortunately for her, a disgruntled worker decided to get rid of her by driving her out onto the highway going towards Aurora and unloading her on the side of the road. Smart girl she was, she found her way all the way back to her junkyard on her own after three days of being o ut in the cold, all alone. The security guard contacted Sonya and she was taken into care for the next two years until we found her on petfinder. Because of her brutal past, she required a lot of patience from us. She lived under the couch for the first few days until we managed to get her into the spare bedroom that we had set up for her to relax and get used to her new house. Smokey was bugging her a bit and she was scared of our dog, so having her own room where she could be on her own was great for her. Gradually, after a lot of one on one time with her in her bedroom, she started gaining more and more confidence and started coming up to us for attention and eventually stopped going into the bedroom altogether. She went from being such a terrified cat to being the biggest attention hog I have ever seen! When I'm going to bed, she is standing on me, rubbing her face on my hand, and when I get home or wake up, she is right on the couch with me purring like crazy. She can often be found sleeping next to Smokey on the bed or! their b lankets int he living room and has even grown fond of our dog, whom she rubs up against quite often. Much like Smokey's attachment to me, Bobbi is attached to my boyfriend Ross, whom she uses as a chair when watching movies. If she's not sleeping on Ross, she is rolling around on the ground waiting for bellyrubs LOL OR she is waiting for her wet food and meowing at me until the bowl is put on the ground. We are so glad that we have her and we intend to keep spoiling her rotten
