My Story

Breed - Domestic Shorthair Spayed Female Weight - 9 pounds Estimated Age - 6 years old If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our cat adoption questionnaire at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTAR/Cat. For questions, email [email protected]. HOW TO MEET THIS CAT: You can meet this cat in her foster home. LOCATION: foster home. ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Shana, [email protected] ADOPTION FEE: $170. This fee INCLUDES neuter, vaccines, and microchip. Ask us about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, and other discounts! HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Prefers to be a single cat! DOGS: No dogs! KIDS: Not a fan of the mini humans. KNOWN LIKES: Lots of play time and calm cuddles! KNOWN DISLIKES: Being picked up and held. Lots of commotion. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Bluie was rescued as a kitten with her mom and siblings in Kabul, Afghanistan. Mom and kittens were all black, and they couldn't find a home for any of them. They came to the US where they were all adopted. Unfortunately, the man who adopted Bluie with her mom years ago suffered from health issues and moved into assisted living. When they came back to us, we saw that the bond they once shared was gone. Bluie now seems best as a single kitty getting lots of human attention. She is a little chatty and will tell you about her day. Bluie can get overstimulated easily which means watching her body language to know when to respect her space. She needs a calmer home without other animals, kids, or lots of commotion! We know we will find the right home for Bluie to once again thrive. Is that home with you? HT ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay/Neuter A series of FVRCP vaccines, rabies vaccine (if old enough), and deworming Microchip - lifetime registration with no fees EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free physical exam with Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care within 30 days of adoption and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) within 14 days of adoption. A portion of EVERY ADOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities. BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.
