My Story

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE: To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. Apply to adopt with our online cat application: https://fs17.formsite.com/waverlypetrescue/form4/index.html Please go to our web-site to learn more about Waverly Pet Rescue: www.waverlypetrescue.com Blossom... She was born 6/21/2015 and will be 8-1/2 years old in January 2024. She is up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and spayed. Blossom was found as a stray in Waterloo, Iowa when she was a baby kitten. Born in my woodpile and rescued. She started off feral and has come along slowly. She is sweet and friendly with her foster mom. And would need a cat lover to adopt her that can give her time to adjust in a new home. She is a sweet kitty and loves to petted and gets along with other cats. She likes to be held for a short period but if held against her wishes she may nip to get away so no young children in the home would be best. She is not a lap kitten at this time. She is afraid of other people until she is used to them. Such a sweetheart, would be so worth it if you could give her this chance. 2/9/17 UPDATE: Blossom is about 1-1/2 years old now. She is still a little shy but warms up after she gets to know you. She will be a kitty you need to set up in a room alone after you first adopt her. That way she can get to know you. We love when the shy kitties get adopted to experienced cat people who understand some kitties just need TLC and time to settle into a new home. 2/20/18 UPDATE Good in a home with other cats most the time She sometimes tries to pick fights. Older kind children would be ok. We also think if given time and proper introductions, she would be ok with dogs too. Siblings: Blossom, Rosebud, Daffodil. **Photos taken by Jessica with "Moments of Joy" in Waterloo. She donated her time and talent to help Waverly Pet Rescue. Here is her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MomentsofJoyPhoto Blossom's adoption fee is $95.00 adoption fee. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to [email protected] All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters. Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
