My Story

Meet Biscuit St Clair 0418 *$pecial FIV+ fee* Biscuit~born~April 2018 Hi! My name is biscuit! I have come such a long way and am so happy to be rescued! I was living on the streets on the Eastside of Detroit when I was trapped as part of a TNR project. Luckily I was showing signs of being friendly during recovery so my rescuer reached out to see if there was a foster home available. Thankfully a foster took me in; it didn't take me long to start purring and meowing for attention! I was so hungry I ate so much in the beginning and I was even a little bit food aggressive which has definitely gotten better now that I know I'm always going to have meals throughout the day. I also had so many wounds to my neck--- thankfully the veterinarian treated me! I am very happy being rescued. I still meow for attention and purr and do headbutts. I also like to play with toys, the laser light or string toys. I'm hoping someone's going to be patient to let me gain confidence in a new home! It shouldn't take long but inside is a whole new world for me and I really like it! Biscuit has tested positive for FIV; however, Biscuit is happy and healthy and thriving and has so much love to share, and is available for a special FIV+ adoption fee which includes feluk/fiv combo test, current vaccines, spay/neuter, and microchip! FIV+ cats need love too! FIV is species specific, meaning only cats can be infected. FIV+ cats can live just as long as Non-FIV cats. If introduced properly, FIV and Non-FIV cats can live happy and healthy lives together. The virus is very frail and can only live outside the body for a few seconds, and requires serious physical interaction, like deep bite wounds. Normal social interactions, such as grooming, sharing food and water bowls and litter boxes have no known risk of transmission. The special adoption fee can give you and the cat years of love and companionship.
